The front camera may be one of the biggest updates to come with the iPhone 14 family this fall, according to a new report from Korea. Apple is allegedly looking to buy high-end cameras with the next generation of iPhones, and as such is looking at LG Innotek to supply the cameras, along with Sharp.
If true, this will be the first time in history that a Korean company has manufactured the front camera for iPhones. It is said that Apple designs front cameras as advanced components to achieve success.
The LG Innotek Camera was initially supposed to be used on the iPhone 15, but Apple recently changed the schedule to before that. This is due to some quality issues that Chinese-made cameras have encountered, which appeared during quality testing. So the partnership with the unnamed Chinese companies was canceled, and Apple brought in LG Innotek as an alternative to the iPhone 14 generation.
If these rumors are true, the iPhone 14 versions will have autofocus with the front camera while improving other functions, and this will lead to the price of the front camera unit for the iPhone 14 almost three times compared to previous versions.
