This week is International Display Week and Chinese monitor manufacturer BOE Display is not letting go without revealing one of its many innovative products. The company showcased a 95-inch 8K OLED screen product .
While 8K displays aren’t among the smart TVs sold at the occasion, BOE is likely to envision a proliferation of 8K displays in no time. The screen resolution is 8K 7680 x 4320 pixels. It also comes with a 1 million to 1 screen contrast ratio as well as support for a 120Hz refresh rate, and a wide color gamut of 99% DCI-P3.
The new 95-inch OLED display adopts a high aperture ratio of 8K based on a transparent capacitive pixel design, which effectively improves the aperture ratio of the back panel. The TV also has a very narrow bezel design. Under the condition of ensuring high charging rate and high uniformity of the backplane, the zenith brightness of the screen can reach 800nits, while the average brightness is 150nits which is an industry-leading level.
Furthermore, the smart display is equipped with an HDR algorithm based on the “true black” OLED display effect, allowing it to achieve millions of ultra-high contrast ratios and 10-bit color depth.
The 95-inch OLED display uses BOE’s ultra-large OLED backboard technology, based on a series of technologies such as ultra-thick metal deposition technology, deep gap etching technology, and oxide TFT structure optimization. It is equipped with a drive compensation algorithm to further improve the uniformity and stability of the 8K Ultra HD 8K OLED screen in others to achieve the desired quality and to ensure that images moving across the screen at high speed are not smeared.
