The Chinese company, ZTE, announced its new phone, the Axon 40 Ultra, which includes the third generation of the company’s front camera built into the bottom of the UD screen, and it seems that this time the company is confident enough in the technology to put it within the Ultra model.
Previously, UD cameras were the Axon 20 5G and Axon 30 5G cameras. The phone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen, a density of 400 pixels per inch, a resolution of 1116 x 2480 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
ZTE uses a new UDC Pro chip to power the display and arranges new sub-pixels on top of the camera to make the area more uniform. And this is a 10-bit board with 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It’s also very bright with 1,500 nits peak brightness and 1440Hz high frequency PWM dimming.
The Axon 40 Ultra offers a 64MP triple camera, with a wide camera and an ultra-wide camera using a custom Sony IMX787 sensor. The selfie camera features a 16-megapixel sensor with 1.12 µm pixels.
The main camera has a 7P lens with f/1.6 aperture and 35mm focal length. It also includes optical image stabilization and multi-directional autofocus as well.
The 64MP Ultra Wide Camera has a 16mm (f/2.35) lens with autofocus. This allows her to take macro shots at a distance of 4 cm. Both units use a custom Sony IMX787 sensor.
Moving on to the 64MP telephoto camera, it has a 91mm focal length periscope lens, f/3.5 aperture, and optical image stabilization. There is also a 3D ToF sensor to assist focus and a flicker sensor.
The new ZTE device can record 8K video with all three rear cameras. It can also keep all three cameras active simultaneously, allowing you to quickly switch between focal lengths.
