Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Meta, formerly known as Facebook, announced that she has officially resigned from her position, after 14 years of holding an important position at Facebook, during which she contributed to transforming Facebook from a startup company to a giant and one of the most important companies in the field of online advertising.

The 52-year-old Sandberg confirmed that she will remain in her position as a member of the board of directors of Meta , the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, as she said in a post on her official Facebook account, provided that Javier Oliván, who led the company’s growth efforts for years, will step down when he steps down. Sheryl Sandberg will officially announce later this fall 2022.

Sheryl Sandberg was born in 1969 and was always one of the top achievers in the study, which made her join Harvard University in 1991 to obtain a degree in economics and then an MBA from the same university, and then worked as a consultant for McKinsey and then at Google in 2001 In the position of Vice President of the Department of Global Sales and Operations, and after several meetings with Mark Zuckerberg on various occasions, I decided to join Meta – Facebook at the time – in 2008, in order to occupy the position of CEO of COO operations since that time, to succeed in leading the company to become a giant For ads, Zuckerberg had no clear plan to monetize his social network at the time.

Commenting on Sandberg’s departure from the company, Mark Zuckerberg said that when Sheryl joined Facebook in 2008 he was only 23 years old at the time, and that he barely knew anything about how to run a company, and added that Facebook was then a website and was not an activity. Commercially profitable, it was Sandberg’s turn to help transform Facebook from a small start-up to a true corporation. Sheryl designed the company’s advertising business, recruited talent and shaped the company’s management culture. He said Sheryl taught him how to run a company and she deserves credit for what Meta has now achieved.
