A pre-production prototype of Google’s upcoming Pixel 7 smartphone has been shown on eBay, giving us a first look at the new phone months ahead of its fall release .

Google revealed the phone a few weeks ago at Google I/O. The prototype, as evidenced by the unusual logo and markings on the device, offered for sale matches what the company has shown.

The distinctive camera strap, an aluminum strap with holes for cameras, is back this year. The prototype case also comes in a deep black color, and it looks exactly like one of the colors the company showed off at Google I/O.

The eBay listing includes some pictures of the front, back, and sides of the device. But there is no difference from what you can see with official offers from the company.

The image of the phone in action shows that it has 128GB of storage. This indicates that Google is once again offering a 128GB model as an option.

And the screenshot shows that the phone model is GVU6C. And one of the images suggests that the seller may have a Pixel 7 Pro as well.

The images can see the reflection of what appears to be the Pixel 7 Pro’s camera strip across the back of the Pixel 7 prototype.

A first look at the Pixel 7 from Google

The seller claims to have bought the Pixel 7 prototype from a wholesaler without knowing what this phone is. The seller also says he realized it was a Pixel 7 after doing his research and seeing pictures that looked like the phone he had. He also adds that he has a Pixel 7 Pro.

The list has been closed. As a result, you will not be able to purchase this device. There were no bids for the prototype, and the initial bid was $450.

This Pixel 7 sale is the latest major pre-release leak for the Pixel, which has a track record of surprises dating back to the name’s first phone.

A prototype of the Pixel Watch was spotted in a restaurant shortly before the smartwatch was announced at Google I/O.

A reference to the Pixel 6A has also appeared in a coloring book since January. And someone photographed what appeared to be a Pixel 6 Pro test unit a few weeks before the company officially launched the device.

We’ll likely have to wait a few months before Google shares more about the Pixel 7, as the phones won’t arrive until the fall. And if past years are any indication, some kind of launch event should be expected in October.
