Sony continues to push forward with turning leading video games into TV shows and movies for the PlayStation platform, as the company announced that it will present a show based on Horizon Zero Dawn with the Netflix platform at an investor event.

Sony is also working on a movie based on the Gran Turismo series, but it hasn’t found a distributor yet, and Neil Blomkamp could appear as its director.

The Gran Turismo series has sold more than 85 million copies, with the latest release, Gran Turismo 7, hitting stores in March for PS 4 and PS 5.

According to the information, the series Horizon Zero Dawn, based on the popular video game where robotic dinosaurs roam in post-apocalyptic America, is in early development on Netflix. While the Gran Turismo Racing Series has not reached a distributor yet.

Both projects are still in an early stage of development. As a result, it is likely that they will not be broadcast for long. However, the fact that the company continues to introduce new TV projects and movies shows that it is committed to expanding the PlayStation brand beyond just hardware and video games.

In addition to the new projects, the company confirmed that the God of War series, which was first announced in March as coming to Amazon, has arrived on Prime Video Streamer.

PlayStation Productions currently has several other projects in progress. The projects total 10, according to Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Tony Vinceira.

Sony committed to expanding the PlayStation brand

Sony and PlayStation Productions are ramping up their projects based on popular video games. The move first began with the movie Uncharted starring Tom Holland earlier this year. This film grossed more than 400 million dollars at the global box office.

It is clear that PlayStation Productions is immersed in the cinematic field. This news also shows that the Japanese company is continuing its strategy of working with different broadcasting companies.

And it looks like the company wants to make sure you’re watching their video game characters, regardless of the subscription. Sony said during an investor briefing that the hyper-competitive broadcast wars are beneficial to it.

It is reported that this is not the only step the company has taken to expand the PlayStation brand beyond the audience of people who only buy consoles. And the company recently announced that it wants to significantly expand the presence of its games across computers and phones as well.
