After a year-long international investigation, the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended the suspected head of the SilverTerrier cybercrime group.
“The suspect is suspected of leading an international cybercrime ring that targeted corporations and individuals with mass phishing assaults and corporate email compromise schemes,” Interpol said in a statement.
The coordinated global effort, dubbed Operation Delilah, involves following the 37-year-old Nigerian man’s physical movements prior to his arrest at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
The Singapore-based Group-IB claimed to have provided threat information that led to the arrest as part of a police investigation that started in May 2021.
This is the third in a series of law enforcement operations aimed at locating and apprehending members of the suspected SilverTerrier gang (aka TMT).
