Microsoft announced that it has started rolling out a few new gaming-related features for Edge on Windows 10 and Windows 11, all designed to entice gamers to Edge.
As Microsoft Vice President said :
“Microsoft is into games, and as we recently announced, we’re building a platform for the next 20 years that will give gamers the games gamers want on any device they want to play. Our teams across the company continue to collaborate to deliver great gaming experiences across devices, whether you want to play on Xbox, Windows PC, phone or tablet. As part of this exciting effort, Edge is evolving to meet the needs of gamers and help bring games to everyone, everywhere. “
In another context, Microsoft also offers an “efficiency mode”, which will allow the user to set Edge to use fewer resources when possible, but what is new is an option to reduce resource use when playing a computer game, so the impact on performance is little and you can enjoy your games without having to exit the browser completely
Here is the list of new gaming features that will be coming to Edge
- Games new tab page
- New games list to find browser-based games
- Clarity Boost to improve game streaming quality with Xbox Game Pass
- New Efficiency Mode reduces Edge’s use of resources when running the game
Users can get these updates by heading to Settings > About Edge and tapping on “Check for Updates” inside the browser.
