Instagram is a platform we all know, and for some people, it’s their primary social media use. In particular, many artists use Instagram to share their photos and drawings, and while the app offers many ways to edit your photos, there isn’t much control over how those photos appear on your profile. Now, according to findings from two separate Twitter users, it appears that Instagram may finally allow you to customize how posts appear on your profile.

The first customization option, spotted by the account below, will allow you to choose and crop which part of the image will be displayed on your Instagram profile.

This is especially useful for people who want to organize how their profiles look at a glance. Some people like to combine the thumbnails of each photo into their profile so that when you visit it looks like a single, cohesive photo broken into several parts. This will make it easier for people who may want to do this or even those who want to focus on one specific aspect of the image. This may relate to a feature that the company was said to be working on that would allow you to rearrange the order in which posts appear on your Page.

The second customization option was spotted by another account below, which is the ability to set the aspect ratio of image thumbnails on Instagram posts.

This feature is currently in testing as well, but it will allow you to have slightly longer images in your posts to add a bit of contrast. You might usually prefer to upload selfies, so the 4:5 aspect ratio might fit better.

Currently, Instagram is working on these two features, but that does not mean that they will be rolled out to the general public. Companies have a habit of testing features all the time, and while some reach the end users, others don’t. It is very likely that we will see something arrive for Instagram users to personalize their posts in the future, but who knows what exactly.
