Apple announced the third generation of AirPods and much-anticipated MacBook Pro portable devices, with new screens and high-quality M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, as Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed the new design of the Bluetooth earbuds, along with the first computers modified by the company.

According to a report by the British newspaper The Guardian , Tuesday, October 19, 2021, these new devices, which were revealed in a live broadcast on the Internet, come as the company continues its transformation from Intel processors to those designed by Apple.

The third generation of AirPods

The design of the new AirPods mimics that of the more expensive AirPods Pro, with shorter legs and push-button controls, but it doesn’t have a silicone tip and comes without Active Noise Cancellation.

The speakers have been improved for better sound quality, a longer battery life of up to six hours of continuous playback, and a new design for the AirPods case that uses MagSafe wireless charging.

The third-generation AirPods have all the same instant-pairing features as Apple's other earbuds.

AirPods also support Apple’s spatial surround sound head tracking while watching movies, TV shows, or listening to music. The new AirPods also have an adaptive equalizer similar to the AirPods Pro.

The price of the third generation of AirPods is $179 in the United States, and shipping begins on October 26. Apple also offered a cheaper music package through the Apple Music service at $ 6.90, but it will be controlled using Siri only on Apple devices.

MacBook Pros

The much-anticipated MacBook Pro is the biggest change to Apple’s most important laptop since 2012. It’s also ditched the secondary OLED “touch bar” screen that’s been around since 2016, after it proved unpopular with the company’s hardware users.

The new devices also have larger screens of 14.2 inches and 16.2 inches, with much smaller bezels, and a 1080p camera hole similar to the camera hole in iPhone phones. Both versions have miniLED screens that operate at a refresh rate of 120Hz to increase screen brightness, support HDR imaging, and smoother animations.

The new redesigned MacBook Pros offer larger screens and faster performance.

The new MacBook Pro also sees the return of various connectivity ports such as: Thunderbolt port, HDMI port, SD card slots, and MagSafe 3 magnetic charging system. The entire body of the device is made of 100% recycled aluminum.

Inside, the devices contain Apple’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, which build on the success of the M1 processor used in the MacBook Air and other Apple devices.

The new processors have 10 cores that make them up to 70% faster than the M1 processors. These processors support up to 64GB of memory, with a much longer battery life of up to 21 hours of watching videos, with support for fast charging as well.

The new MacBook Pro is an important test of Apple’s new processors, because these devices are fundamental to the community of large third-party developers who develop the apps and services that make Apple devices successful.

Developers are among the most demanding PC users, along with movie and TV show makers, and so they are waiting for a lot of new processors to convince them to abandon their old Intel processors.

In terms of pricing, the 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999, while the 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2,499. Devices will begin shipping on October 26.

The new version of Apple’s desktop operating system, macOS Monterey, will be released on October 25, after it was announced at the company’s June developer conference.
